Andreas Kaplan

Prof. Dr. Andreas Kaplan is President of Kühne Logistics University (KLU), a multi-campus business school and management university based in Hamburg, Germany, with an Asia campus in Saigon, Vietnam, and two additional campuses planned for Africa and the Americas. Before joining KLU, Kaplan held several leadership roles at ESCP Business School, most recently serving as Dean and Director of its Paris campus, and brings over 15 years of leadership experience in higher education.

A distinguished professor specializing in digital transformation, Kaplan’s research explores the complexities of the digital world, focusing on artificial intelligence, social media, and virtual reality. His books and articles, published by leading academic presses such as Cambridge, Columbia, Harvard, and Oxford University Press, have been widely cited, amassing over 65,000 citations on Google Scholar. A prominent PLoS study ranks him among the world’s most cited and impactful scientists.

Kaplan earned his Habilitation from Panthéon-Sorbonne University and his PhD jointly from the University of Cologne and HEC Paris. He also holds an MPA from the École Nationale d’Administration (ENA, now INSP), an MBA from The Power Business School, an MSc from ESCP, and a BBA from Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. Additionally, he pursued doctoral studies at INSEAD and completed the ITP at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
