How Strauss is rethinking logistics with LOGISITICS NEXT LEVEL - transformation with vision, innovation and responsibility

Wednesday, October 22 11.30 - 11.50 a.m.
Zurück
LanguageGerman
Description

LOGISTICS NEXT LEVEL: Strauss' answer to the question “How can real logistics transformation succeed”?

LOGISTICS NEXT LEVEL is more than just a project - it is a bold commitment to the future viability of logistics made in Germany. Strauss shows how a genuine transformation of logistics can succeed: economically powerful, technologically pioneering, ecologically well thought-out and socially effective.

Where others rely on greenfield sites and standard solutions, Strauss is deliberately taking a different approach: with a fully self-financed brownfield revitalization in the high double-digit million range, the existing logistics center at the headquarters is being transformed in the midst of global uncertainties - not as a reaction, but as a strategic departure into the future.

The result is a highly automated, AI-supported logistics system with cognitive robotics - an intelligent system that controls processes with foresight, uses resources efficiently, protects the environment and redefines the world of work. The focus is on people: with reduced weekly working hours with full pay, future-proof jobs and a logistics environment at the highest technological level with automation, cognitive robotics and AI.

This presentation tells the story of a company that is not satisfied with the status quo - but is constantly rethinking logistics. It portrays the holistic transformation of a logistics company in which high-tech and humanity are not a contradiction in terms - one that combines profitability, sustainability and social responsibility. The message: change is possible - if you shape it consistently and with a clear attitude. The lecture is intended to encourage transformation - and be an invitation to all those who do not want to wait and see, but want to shape the future of logistics - in a human, sustainable and technologically excellent way.

Coffee-Talk: How to transform workplace and drive innovation?

Wednesday, October 22 2.00 - 2.45 p.m.
Zurück

Description

Real innovation often emerges from a workplace transformation, with a strong employee experience serving as the basis for driving change. Crafting an exceptional employee experience can be the first step toward innovation. The next crucial aspect is fostering a thriving culture, underpinned by real, lived values. This goes beyond buzzwords — values should be meaningful and embraced by all. These values should then form the basis of a cultural charter that’s clearly communicated, supported, and integrated into the overall employer experience. The question remains: Is your organization ready for transformation? This coffee talk seeks not only answers to this issue but also shows how innovation can be implemented quickly in your organization. Fix the fundamentals, catch the employees, develop it, live it.

The freight transport of the future is digital - ever heard of eFTI?

Wednesday, October 22 4.00 - 4.30 p.m.
Zurück
LanguageGerman
Description

In July 2027, a digital network will go live across Europe that will enable logistics companies and service providers to provide freight transportation information digitally during inspections by competent authorities. The EU member states are obliged to introduce interoperable systems in the control authorities in order to be able to accept freight transport information digitally. The objectives for this are: more efficiency in freight transport, digital connection of authorities, faster and more targeted checks, up-to-date transport data for companies, fewer language barriers, better monitoring of cabotage journeys, increased safety for emergency services and more efficient operations, e.g. in the event of dangerous goods accidents. Companies must therefore make the data available on suitable platforms. This is why this session, together with companies and the German Freight Forwarding and Logistics Association (DSLV), will focus on the practical opportunities and challenges of digitizing transport data. The Federal Ministry of Transport will also show what support is being provided by the federal government for implementation.

Trendsetter retail logistics – innovative and sustainable!

Description

Just as efficient logistics processes are key to customer satisfaction and competitiveness in online retail, promotions are a central component of cooperation between the consumer goods industry and retailers, and an important driver of sales. However, both require a high level of packaging effort.

After a keynote speech entitled “New trends in shipping and returns management in e-commerce” with a focus on packaging solutions in online retailing, users from industry and retail will discuss the opportunities and challenges of permanent and reusable solutions for POS promotions in the subsequent panel discussion. Alternative concepts that promise significant savings in packaging and CO2 are being already tested in initial pilot projects.

During the session, participating companies in the "Lean & Green" initiative in Germany will be honoured for their success in reducing their CO2 emissions in transport and logistics processes and for assuming ecological responsibility."

Description

Rules, tariffs, and trade agreements are undergoing global changes – and with them, the playing field for internationally operating companies and their supply chains. Political decisions can take effect overnight, trade barriers emerge or shift, and regulatory requirements are becoming increasingly complex.

This hands-on session brings together two perspectives: a sound legal assessment of current developments and regulatory frameworks, and a direct report from practical experience. Together, the speakers will explore how companies can remain flexible, legally compliant, and operational – even under geopolitical pressure. The focus will be on concrete strategies for dealing with tightened export controls, new customs structures, and ad-hoc measures.

Unbeatable Together – Logistics and Marketing Joining Forces

Thursday, October 23 10.00 - 10.30 a.m.
Zurück
LanguageGerman
Description

Marketing relies on smooth, efficient logistics – because even the most creative campaign falls flat if products are unavailable or deliveries are unreliable. Especially in the age of TikTok, Instagram & Co., where viral trends can cause demand to skyrocket overnight, logistics becomes a decisive success factor. But logistics also benefits from marketing – not only when it comes to polishing its often outdated image and presenting it as a high-tech industry with critical, forward-looking relevance. The potential goes far beyond that. Logistics and marketing are now inseparable – and together, they are unbeatable.

The AI-driven metaverse: The future of supply chains?

Thursday, October 23 10.30 a.m - 12.00 p.m.

Description

The metaverse opens up new perspectives for the supply chain: simulation-supported, collaborative environments allow processes to be designed more efficiently and energy consumption to be optimized in a targeted manner. In intralogistics, AI-controlled fleets - such as robots, AMRs or forklifts - enable precise control in real time. Another key is the integration of metaverse-based simulations into existing ERP, WMS and TMS systems. New players are entering the market, which means that the balance of power is shifting and strategic positioning needs to be rethought.

The new regulation presents both technical and organizational challenges, while also offering opportunities to increase efficiency and ensure quality.

In this panel discussion, we will bring together perspectives from manufacturers, data management experts, and users. Description

AI systems often seem like a “black box”. The open-source concept offers an opportunity to open the box: sharing training data, pre-trained models and software creates an open innovation ecosystem. Companies are faced with the make-or-buy decision, with established technology providers increasingly also offering open-source interfaces. The “make” decision, i.e. developing their own AI solutions, offers more control and customization options, while technology providers score points with proven infrastructure and scalability. Companies make their choice based on strategic considerations of market position, security and the benefits of a transparent, collaboratively developed solution.

Description

Disruptions in global supply chains are prompting the search for alterna-tive routes. One such route, the Middle Corridor, links China and Central Asia with Europe via the Caspian Sea, South Caucasus, and Turkey or the Black Sea. Though costlier and slower, it boosts regional connectivity and trade, especially between Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and the EU. The region’s dynamic growth, rich resources, and young population are attracting foreign investment. Trade within the region has risen 37%, and trade with the EU is up 28%. The corridor offers opportunities for German firms in infrastructure, port tech, and energy. The Ambassador's Talk will explore these prospects.
