Privacy Statement

as of March 16, 2015

We understand that it is important for you to protect your privacy when using our online services. We take the protection of your personal data very seriously, and we have therefore taken the necessary technical and organisational measures to ensure full compliance with the legal regulations on data protection.

This privacy statement explains how Bundesvereinigung Logistik (BVL) e.V. (referred to as "BVL" in the following) handles the personal data of people who use our online sites (website and social media profiles of BVL):

I. Using our online sites

1.
You can generally use our online sites without the need to register and without having to provide personal data. If you visit our Internet sites in social networks, in particular on "Facebook", "Google+", "Instagram", "LinkedIn", "Twitter" and "Xing", and would like to contact us via these sites, you may have to first register with the social network or service in question. In this event, your personal data is recorded, processed and used solely on the basis of the data protection guidelines of the social network or service, and this is outside our sphere of influence. If your personal data is sent by us to the social network or vice-versa, this only happens in line with the provisions outlined below.

2.
If you provide your personal data (such as name, address or email address) via our website, by email or via other communication channels (e.g. blog entries, postings on Twitter or Facebook etc.), you always do so voluntarily.

When you transmit your personal data in this way, you consent to the recording, processing and use of your data for the purpose that is rec-ognisably associated with the entry of your data. You can withdraw this consent for the future at any time, either in writing to Bundesvereinigung Logistik e.V., Schlachte 31, 28195 Bremen, Germany, or by email to  bvl@bvl.de.

We record, process and use your personal data solely for the purpose of han-dling your enquiry (e.g. dispatch of information material, ordering of our newsletter, participation in events etc.) or for your comments on our services and always in compliance with the applicable data protection regulations.

3.
All personal data is treated in strict confidence and only accessible to author-ised personnel of BVL. Moreover, this data is not passed on to third parties without your explicit consent, unless we are obliged to do so by law or as the result of a court ruling. BVL does not transmit your personal data to countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area.

4.
As soon as the purpose for which we record and store your personal data is no longer present, we will delete this data without delay, provided that no justified reasons exist for retaining this data based on the applicable legal regulations.

5.
For the remainder, we would like point out that there are inherent security risks in transmitting data via the Internet (e.g. communication via email), with the result that data may be accessed or falsified by third parties.

6.
The use of the contact data published on our website or other Internet sites to send advertising, information material, chain letters, spam and similar content that has not been explicitly requested is prohibited. We expressly reserve the right to take legal steps in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising information such as spam mails.

II. Cookies

1.
To ensure that you enjoy fast browsing and therefore convenient utilisation of our website, we use so-called "session cookies" on our pages, small text tiles that are stored on the computer of the user and (depending on the setting in your browser program) deleted automatically when you leave our webpage and close your browser. You can of course set your browser to reject these cookies ("do not accept any cookies"), but in this event it may be the case that some functions of our website are no longer available or are only available to a limited degree..

2.
In addition, cookies are also used by the Web analysis tool "Google Analytics" for the purpose of statistical evaluation of our website. Please read the "Privacy statement for the use of Google Analytics" (no. III) below for more information on the type and scope of these cookies.

III. Privacy statement for the use of "Google Analytics"

1.
This website uses "Google Analytics", a Web analysis service of Google, Inc. (“Google”). "Google Analytics" uses “cookies” (text files stored on your com-puter) to enable the website to analyse how you use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is generally transmitted to a "Google" server in the USA and stored there. In the event that IP anonymisation is activated on this website, however, "Google" first truncates your IP address within the member states of the European Union or in other countries that have signed the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a "Google" server in the USA before it is truncated. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google uses this information to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities, and to provide additional services to the website operator related to website use and Internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of "Google Analytics" is not merged with other data by "Google". You can prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; we would like to point out, however, that in this event you may not be able to make full use of all the functions of this website. Moreover, you can prevent recording of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and the transmission of this data to "Google" as well as the processing of this data by "Google" by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available via the following link: www.tools.google.com

2.
You can prevent recording by "Google Analytics" by clicking on the following link. In this event, a so-called opt-out cookie is set that prevents future record-ing of your data when you visit this website: deactivate Google Analytics

3.
You can find more information on the conditions of use and on data protection with the use of "Google Analytics" at http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/us.html or https://www.google.com/policies/privacy

4.
We would like to point out that, on this website, "Google Analytics" has been extended by the code "gat._anonymizeIp();" in order to ensure anonymised recording of IP addresses (so-called IP masking).

IV. „Social Plugins“

Our Internet pages contain plug-ins of various social networks that allow you to also take advantage of the interactive features of the social networks in which you are active when you visit our Internet pages. These plug-ins provide a range of different functions whose purpose and scope are determined by the operators of the social networks. We use a 2-click procedure for improved protection of your personal data. The plug-in is activated the first time you click on the button of the plug-in, and this is indicated by the change in the colour of the button from grey to coloured. You can then decide to use the plug-in in question by clicking on the button of the plug-in a second time. Please note that BVL is not the provider of the social networks and has no influence on data processing by the company providing the service.

The following sections contain more detailed information on the individual plug-ins.

1. „Facebook“

Plug-ins of the social network "Facebook", 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA are integrated in our website. You can recognise the "Facebook" plug-ins by the "Facebook" logo on our website.

As soon as you access a page of our website that contains a plug-in of this kind and activate the plug-in, your browser connects directly to the servers of "Facebook" via this plug-in. Due to the integration of the plug-in, "Facebook" is informed that you have accessed the corresponding page of our website via your IP address. If you are a member of "Facebook" and are logged onto "Facebook" at the time in question, "Facebook" can assign the visit to your "Facebook" account. If you then interact with the "plug-in" (in other words, if you click on the "Facebook Like button", for example) you can link the content of our pages to your "Facebook" profile so that the corresponding information is sent by your browser direct to "Facebook" and stored there. Even if you are not a member of "Facebook", it is still possible that "Facebook" may obtain and store your IP address.

We have no influence over the content and scope of data collected by "Face-book" with the help of this plug-in. The purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by "Facebook" as well as your rights in this regard and the options for settings to protect your privacy are therefore based solely on the data utilisation guidelines of "Facebook", which are available at www.facebook.com/full_data_use_policy. If you are a member of "Facebook" and do not want "Facebook" to collect data relat-ing to you via our website and to connect this data with your data that is stored with "Facebook", please log out of "Facebook" before you visit our website. You can also block social plug-ins of "Facebook" using add-ons for your browser, such as the "Facebook Blocker".

2. „Google+“

Plug-ins of the social network "Google+" are integrated in our website. You can globally publish information using the "Google +1" button. You and other users have access to personalised contents from "Google" and "Google" part-ners via the "Google +1" button. "Google" not only stores the information pro-vided by you for "+1" content, but also information regarding the site viewed by you when clicking on "+1". Your "+1" activities may be shown as information together with your profile name and your photo in "Google" services, such as in search results, in your "Google" profile or in other places on websites and advertisements on the Internet.

"Google" records information on your "+1" activities in order to improve the "Google" services for you and others. If you want to use the "Google+1" plug-in, you need a public "Google" profile that is visible worldwide and that con-tains at least the name chosen for the profile. This name is used in all "Google" services. In some cases, this name may also replace another name that you have used to share content via your "Google" account. The identity of your "Google" profile may be shown to users who know your email address or who possess other identifying information pertaining to your person.

In addition to being used for the purposes outlined above, the information you provide is also used in line with the applicable "Google" data protection provisions. "Google" may possibly publish summarised statistics on the "+1" activities of users or pass these statistics on to users and partners such as publishers, advertisers or affiliated websites. You can find the "Google" data protection provisions at www.google.com/policies/privacy/

3. „Twitter“

Functions of the social network "Twitter" are integrated in our website. These functions are offered by Twitter Inc., Twitter, Inc. 1355 Market St, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. When you use "Twitter" and the "Re-Tweet" function, the web pages you visit are linked to your "Twitter" account and made known to other users. Some data is also transmitted to "Twitter". We would like to point out that we as providers of the pages do not receive any in-formation on the content of the transmitted data and its use by "Twitter". For more information, please refer to the privacy statement of "Twitter" at http://twitter.com/privacy. You can change your data protection settings on "Twitter" in the account settings at http://twitter.com/account/settings.

4. „Xing“

The "XING share button" is also used on our website. When you access our site and activate the XING button, your browser establishes a short-term con-nection to servers of XING AG, Dammtorstraße 30, 20354 Hamburg ("XING") in order to perform the "XING share button" functions (chiefly the calcula-tion/display of the counter reading). XING does not store any of your personal data when this Internet page is called up. In particular, XING does not store any IP addresses. Neither is your utilisation behaviour evaluated via to the use of cookies in connection with the "XING share button". You can access the updated data protection information on the "XING share button" as well as additional information at:: https://www.xing.com/app/share?op=data_protection

V. BVL Filesharing "myBVL Cloud"

If you use this service, we will record, process and use your files and the associated information even if it contains personal data. Once you have given your consent, our service shows this data to other users. By giving your consent, you provide other users with access to your information and files.

VI. Your rights

You have the right at any time to obtain cost-free written or electronic information on all personal data relating to you and stored by us. In addition, you have the right to demand that incorrect data be corrected and that access to your personal data be blocked or this data be deleted. You should address your demand for information or your request for correction, blocking or deletion of personal data either in writing to Bundesvereinigung Logistik e.V., Schlachte 31, 28195 Bremen, Germany or by email to bvl@bvl.de.
