Rising energy costs, finite resources and ever stricter legal regulations – the demands on companies to increase the energy efficiency of their business operations are increasing all the time. Efficient use of resources calls above all for pragmatic solutions that can be implemented at short notice. What are equally necessary, however, are overriding strategic concepts to ensure that companies remain competitive in the long term in times of constantly changing conditions and scenarios. And it really is possible to achieve economic and ecological goals at the same time – by using innovative technologies, optimised processes and intelligently organised networks; in short, through operational excellence.

It is these interrelationships that were the focal point of the 10th Logistics Forum Duisburg. This anniversary event profiled hands-on strategies and the interplay of key factors but also provided ample opportunity for an in-depth look at more detailed issues as well as for the intensive exchange of ideas and experiences.

Every year during the Forum the Logistics Service Award is awarded to a company with excellent logistics services. This year it was granted to the specialised forwarder karldischinger GmbH & Co. KG for its "kd-tri-deck-concept". Please find more information about the Logistics Service Award here.

Furthermore, BVL promoted future logistics talent by organising a career forum for students and young professionals as well as a PhD candidates workshop.
